Interview with John Fosque, an executive at Caltex Petroleum Corporation, discussing his educational background, his employment in Haiti with Texaco, his transfer to Caltex, the marketing activities of Caltex (India) from 1936 to 1941, his service in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II, postwar Caltex (India) marketing strategies, the partition of India, the refinery at Vishakhapatnam, and the relationship between the home office in New York and field operations. He also talks about his transfer to the New York office as general manager of the Central East Division in 1954, the relationship between Caltex and shareholders, his promotion to president of Caltex West, the refinery expansion in the 1950s, reorganization in 1957, nationalization and expropiation, and OPEC.
